Dwight Howard Talks Similarities Between Lakers, Miami Heat

Two summers ago the Miami Heat shocked the sports world when they acquired LeBron James and Chris Bosh while re-signing Dwyane Wade, ultimately giving themselves the first super-team in recent memory. The Lakers attempted to one-up Miami this summer by signing two stars of their own, Steve Nash and Dwight Howard.

At Lakers Media Day, Howard was asked about the Lakers and how they compare to the Miami Heat from two seasons ago, and if they expect to experience similar growing pains along the way.

“I don’t know what the Heat really went through because I wasn’t in their locker room. But every team goes through different things during the year. There are going to be some rough patches at times, but that’s where we all have to realize that it’s not just about that particular day, but it’s about the journey. “

Despite hard times, that will certainly come around at some point during the season, Howard knows that the team is focused on one goal heading into the year.

“We all understand what our goal is.”

As Howard spoke the last line he took a quick glance up at the line of Larry O’Brien trophies that overlook the team practice court in El Segundo. I’m sure that’s something the fans will certainly appreciate.
