Special Feature Video: Mychal Thompson on Lakers Future, Even Without Kobe

In Part II of our exclusive interview with Mychal Thompson, Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters asks the Lakers radio personality all about the current roster and the upcoming season. As both a two time champion and an analyst, Mychal Thompson has been around the Lakers organization for over three decades, and has plenty of insight to give, including the key to winning a championship this season. Hint: Thompson thinks the greatest off-season move for the Lakers was the acquisition of Jodie Meeks.

Thompson also has plenty to say about the bright future of the Lakers organization, explaining that the Lakers will have plenty to build on even after Kobe’s retirement.

“Definitely something for the future, as Kobe phases out you’ve still got Dwight Howard as your centerpiece…and you will have all this capital and salary to bring in other stars…He is going to be the magnet to attract other stars to team up with him when Kobe leaves.”

Thompson even tells us just which games he thinks are going to be the most difficult during the regular season. Dare he say Clippers? You’ll just have to watch and see…

Plus, Mychal reminisces about his “pumping iron” days and claims that he’s always been better looking than Magic Johnson (and most, if not all, of his other teammates!)
