NBA News: NBA Commissioner David Stern to Step Down in 2014

It has been rumored for some time that NBA Commissioner David Stern would be stepping down in the near future and now there appears to be a date set for him to do so according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports via Twitter:

This comes as no surprise with Stern letting it be known that he’s ready to walk away from his post as the commissioner. With Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver apparently ready to take over, Stern has decided that it is time to go after many decades of service calling the shots in the NBA.

With that being said, the 2013-2014 season will be Stern’s last with Silver taking over at around the halfway point.
