Kobe sat out at practice for a second straight day today, but don’t take this as an indicator of his injury worsening. According to ESPN’s Beto Duran, he will play in Utah on Wednesday and hopes to be “90 percent.”

Bryant played almost 32 minutes in Sunday’s win against the Detroit Pistons. He led the team in assists with eight, added seven rebounds and 15 points. His seven rebounds tied Dwight Howard and Jordan Hill for the most boards on the night.

After yesterday’s practice, Howard also admitted that he wasn’t close to being 100 percent.

“I’m still a couple steps behind…My legs aren’t all the way there”

With both Bryant and Howard battling injuries, the Lakers will face a much tougher match-up against the Utah Jazz Wednesday night.
