Dwight Howard Says Leaders Need to Keep Frustration in Control

The Los Angeles Lakers are currently 1-4 and everyone is frustrated with the way the team is playing. The Lakers lost their previous game in Salt Lake City and the team played very poorly on both ends of the court.

Kobe Bryant was clearly disappointed by the Lakers’ effort during the night and there are many questions about whether or not the Lakers can pull things together. Bryant was caught on camera giving a “death stare” to coach Mike Brown and the frustration brewing on the Lakers’ bench was evident.

The Lakers’ other star, Dwight Howard, sees that his teammates feed off that frustration and says that he and Kobe must keep their anger inside them. Howard spoke to the Los Angeles Times and spoke about how the leaders must keep their frustration in check.

“Sometimes I think as a team, we ought to be able to not really show our frustrations that much,” Dwight Howard said. “A lot of the guys look at me and Kobe (Bryant) and they feed off us, so we have to do a better job of keeping our frustrations on the inside and just playing through it so our teammates won’t get down on themselves.

“I know [Bryant] was a little frustrated tonight. He wants to win just as bad as all of us do. We’ve just got to stay together, remember it’s a process and stay focused.”

There is a lot going on in Los Angeles and there is no surprise that the team is frustrated. After a summer of two key acquisitions, the Lakers are not living up to expectations. A lot of the blame for the slow start is being blamed on Mike Brown and rumors say he may not be running the sidelines for a while.

Los Angeles is in turmoil right now, and the only way to fix it is by winning games.
