Lakers News: Lakers Assign Rookie Darius Johnson-Odom to D-League

The Los Angeles Lakers are on the midst of a drastic change with 11-time NBA champion Phil Jackson possibly taking over for the recent fired head coach Mike Brown. Although no confirmation has been given concerning the re-hiring of Jackson, the Lakers’ front office is also concentrating on moves for the roster and Sunday’s divisional showdown with the Sacramento Kings.

Reportedly, the Lakers have sent rookie Darius Johnson-Odom down to the NBA D-League according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin via Twitter:

Ironically enough, Johnson-Odom was sent on assignment to Los Angeles Defenders less than 24 hours after finally making his debut with the Lakers.

Johnson-Odom was sent into the rout against the Golden State Warriors on Friday night by interim head coach Bernie Bickerstaff logging only one minute on the floor. In that time, Johnson-Odom didn’t shoot one shot or dish out an assist.
