Lakers News: Steve Nash, Steve Blake Ruled Out vs. Pacers

The waiting game continues for the Los Angeles Lakers as both Steve Nash and Steve Blake have been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers according to Mike Trudell of Lakers.com via Twitter:

It’s been almost a month since Nash was sidelined with the leg fracture sustained in the loss to the Portland Trail Blazers and it still remains uncertain at this point in time how much longer he’ll stuck watching from the sidelines.

As for Blake, there was talk of the veteran point guard getting back on the floor against the Pacers on Tuesday, but apparently he’s still working his way back from the abdomen strain he suffered back on Nov. 11 in the win over the Sacramento Kings.

With the Lakers playing without their starting and backup point guards, the coaching staff has turned to Kobe Bryant to play more of a combo guard position. Kobe currently leads the team in assists with 5.1 per game and leads the league in scoring with 26.9 points per contest.

Once Nash is back on the floor for the Lakers, Kobe claims that he’ll be doing a lot more scoring and that’s a scary thought for opponents as he’s already lighting up the scoreboards on a nightly basis.

Darius Morris and Chris Duhon have seen much more time on the floor with the injured ravaged backcourt, but will likely seldom see time on the floor once Nash and Blake come back healthy.
