The Los Angeles Lakers pulled off a block-buster trade this summer with the Orlando Magic, and for the first time this season, both teams will face off against each other.
The match will be held at Staples Center, meaning Dwight Howard will have the backing of his new fans when playing the Magic. However, the Magic supporters in Orlando will likely express their discontent with Howard when the Lakers head down to Orlando.

Howard admitted that his departure from the Magic could have worked out better, but at the end of the day the past is the past and Howard is now a member of the Lakers. Playing a former team is always an exciting experience, but the Orlando Sentinel reports that Howard believes it will “be a little weird” facing the Magic.
“Well, you know, it’s going to be a little weird playing against my former team,” Howard answered. “But we need a good win and [to] come out with a lot of energy. So I’m going to put all my effort into getting ready for the next game and playing with a lot of intensity and just having fun.”
The Lakers are coming off an amazing win over the Denver Nuggets in a game in which they scored 122 points. Howard hit one of the Lakers’ 17 three-pointers and the team also got 33 points from Antwan Jamison. It seems like things are beginning to click for the Lakers, but they cannot get complacent now. There is still a lot of work to do and they have to win games against teams that are clearly less talented than them.
