The Los Angeles Lakers’ frontcourt has been decimated with injuries and one of the big men is still not ready to get back on the floor.
Pau Gasol suffered a concussion in the Lakers’ loss to the Denver Nuggets and he has been forced to miss the Lakers’ past two games. The Lakers have lost both of those matches and things will not get easier as they will have to face the tough Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday without their starting power forward.
Mike Trudell tweeted that Gasol has shown signs of improvement in his concussion recovery, but he isn’t quite ready to get back out on the court yet.
Pau Gasol showed improvement in a Dr.’s exam today, but is still not cleared to play basketball. He’ll be re-examined tomorrow morning.

Gasol took a blow to the nose by the Nuggets’ JaVale McGee and it was clear that the injury was serious when Gasol was forced to leave the game.
This season has been very disappointing for Gasol, a player that is accustomed to winning games and putting up All-Star numbers. However, in 2012-13, Gasol has been dealing with injuries and a lack of playing time, two things that have severely hurt his production.
At this point, it is unclear when Gasol will return to the lineup, but when he does the Lakers need him to return to his former state.
