Antawn Jamison: “Nobody is Going to Feel Sorry For This Team”

antawn jamisonThe Los Angeles Lakers are one the marquee franchises in the NBA, and they became the envy of the league when they acquired Steve Nash and Dwight Howard in the offseason.

Lakers supporters expected the team to set records in the 2012-13 season, but for the most part, the Lakers have pleased those who do not want to see them succeed. The Lakers notched their first win in 2013 Sunday night when they beat the Cavaliers, giving them a disappointing 16-21 record.

After the game, Antawn Jamison spoke the OC Register and said the Lakers will not be receiving pity from the other teams in the NBA. The Lakers always have a target on their backs and opponents will be happy seeing them fail.

“Nobody is going to feel sorry for this team that has been assembled,” Antawn Jamison said. “If things go south, not the way we want them to go, people, other teams are happy to see that.”

The Lakers are hoping their Sunday night win will turn their season around and be the first victory of hopefully a very long winning streak. Los Angeles was very impressive on the defensive end and the players seemed engaged throughout the full 48 minutes. As of this point, the Lakers will face a very difficult challenge when it comes to making the postseason, but if the players are all on the same page, the sky is the limit for this team.

Los Angeles will be back in action on Tuesday night when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks at the Staples Center.
