Lakers Nation Week in Review: Feb. 23 – Mar. 2

NBA: Phoenix Suns at Los Angeles LakersIt was a three-game week for the Los Angeles Lakers and the team managed to go an acceptable 2-1 in that stretch. The Lakers suffered their first loss since the All-Star break Monday night when the Denver Nuggets dominated them from start to finish. However, the team bounced back strong on Thursday when they beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in front of the Staples Center crowd.

The Lakers have begun to play much better basketball and there is a good chance the team can make the postseason. Although they have a long way to go, the Lakers are looking like a cohesive unit. Time is running out for Los Angeles, but there is finally something to smile about in Southern California.

Here is a look back in Lakers Nation’s week in review.

Lakers Nation Game Recap:

The Los Angeles Lakers opened the week against the Dallas Mavericks in a very closely contested match. The Lakers and Mavericks went back and forth and the game was decided in the final minutes. After Mavs’ owner Mark Cuban’s comments about amnestying Kobe Bryant, the Lakers’ star took over the game in the forth quarter and led the Lakers to victory.

The Lakers had one of their worst defensive performances on Monday night against the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets were able to get anywhere on the court and they dominated the Lakers in the paint. Los Angeles offered no defensive resistance and eventually lost the game, 119-108.

Los Angeles ended the week with a home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. From the opening tip it was clear that the Lakers wanted to get back to their winning ways and Bryant made sure the team walked off victorious. The Lakers once against punished the lowly Wolves and won the match, 116-94.
