Lakers News: Dwight Howard Upset Over David Lee’s Elbow

Dwight HowardThe Los Angeles Lakers lost their third consecutive game last night in Oakland, while losing ground on the Utah Jazz for the eight seed in the Western Conference.

The Lakers never really had a chance in the game against the Warriors as the young team dominated Los Angeles from the opening tip. Golden State enjoyed a double digit lead throughout the game and even though the Lakers made a run late, the outcome was never in doubt. The Warriors outplayed the Lakers in almost every aspect and they were much more physical than the veteran Lakers squad.

In the second quarter of Monday night’s game, Warriors’ David Lee elbowed Dwight Howard in the mouth which caused the Lakers big man to get three stitches. Howard was very upset during his post-game interview, and told Yahoo! Sports that he will not forget what Lee did to him.

“He got away with a shot,” Howard said. “I will remember this game. I will remember that shot. He said he wasn’t trying to do it. You can look at the play and see it for yourself. I will take care of it later.”

Lee told Howard that the play was unintentionally and that it was just the typical style of play when in the paint.

It was a very frustrating game for the Lakers and nothing went right for the team on the night. In the final stretch of the season, the Lakers cannot afford to drop three straight games. The Jazz are creeping up on Los Angeles and if it does not react quickly, Kobe and company will be watching the postseason from home.
