Lakers Rumors & News Recap: Jordan Hill Returns!

NBA: Indiana Pacers at Los Angeles LakersAfter undergoing hip surgery back in January, the consensus was that forward Jordan Hill would miss the rest of the season while recovering from surgery. Although Hill was basically counted out for the NBA playoffs, the veteran forward is listed as active for Game 2 against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night at the AT&T Center.

With Hill back in the lineup, the Lakers add another solid player off the bench to help shoulder the load in the paint with Pau Gasol and/or Dwight Howard resting. Hill’s early return is one of two important players that have been able to bounce back from surgery earlier than expected, with Metta World Peace able to get back on the floor shortly after undergoing knee surgery for a torn meniscus.

Even though Hill finally being activated after month’s of watching from the bench in street clothes is a step in the right direction, the Lakers will still have a giant task ahead by trying to upset the Spurs on their home floor on Wednesday night.

If the Lakers are able to steal a game in San Antonio, Mike D’Antoni’s squad will have taken home-court advantage from the Spurs before heading back to Los Angeles to play Game 3 and 4 at the Staples Center. Game 2’s outcome will be very telling moving forward with the Lakers potentially getting back into the series.
