While regarded as one of the greatest coaches in NBA history, Sloan has flirted with the idea for the past few years. Notably, last season when the Lakers fired head coach Mike Brown, Sloan’s name came up, but he denied any interest.

Sloan went so far as to say former nemesis Phil Jackson was the perfect fit for the job while he took another year off. Before the Bobcats hired former coach Mike Dunlap, Sloan’s name came up as a potential fit for a young, upstart Bobcats roster.

With the firing of Milwaukee Bucks interim coach Jim Boylan, Sloan’s name has been thrown around as a potential candidate. Whether or not he gets a shot with the Bucks, he certainly has the itch to man the sidelines once again.
