Lakers News: Kobe Bryant Tweets His Thoughts About Legal Issue With His Mother

Yesterday, Lakers guard Kobe Bryant filed a cease-and-desist letter against his mother Pamela due to the fact that she wanted to sell his memorabilia without his permission.

Today, Bryant responded on Twitter about his feelings about his mom:

It was reported that his mother received a $450,000 check in advance from the memorabilia shop as she planned to use the money to buy a second house in Nevada.

Bryant and his parents haven’t always had the best relationship as his parents weren’t at his wedding and just recently they’ve been seen at Laker games. Regardless, like most athletes, Bryant has helped his family financially and feels like he’s given so much to them.

While his mom received an advance from the auction house, Bryant offered to pay her $250,000 towards the house, but clearly that wasn’t enough. The auction house filed a lawsuit against Bryant and is hoping for a judge to rule to allow them to auction off his goods.

As Kobe recovers from his Achilles injury, dealing with his money-hungry mother is probably the last thing he wants to do. The Lakers season ended in miserable fashion and dealing with his mother can’t be easy for him.

It sounds like there was a miscommunication between Pamela and her son, but it seems doubtful that Kobe would give the go-ahead to sell all of his basketball memorabilia. With his dad coaching in Thailand, it seems like his mom is the main culprit behind this scheme, and it isn’t known when a judge will see the case.

Regardless, Kobe’s relationship with his mom clearly has taken numerous steps back, and hopefully for the 15-time All-Star the judge will rule in his favor.
