Lakers News: Kobe Bryant Named First Team All-NBA

Despite one of the most tumultuous seasons in the history of Lakers basketball, Kobe Bryant was once again a reliable source for Los Angeles. Kobe played in 78 games for the Lakers this season, averaging 38.6 minutes and 27.3 points. His overall performance was enough to earn him a slot on the first team All-NBA for the 11th time in his NBA career, tying him with the legendary Karl Malone.

Bryant wasn’t the only Laker to be honored with an All-NBA nod this season, as his teammate Dwight Howard was named to the third team All-NBA list.

Bryant didn’t participate in the team’s four playoff games, as he is recovering from a torn Achilles suffered in the final week of the regular season.
