Joining Kobe Bryant on being named to the All-NBA Team (Kobe was named to the First Team for the 11th time), is his new teammate for the 2012-13 season. Per the Los Angeles Lakers, center Dwight Howard was named to the All-NBA Third Team today.
Howard, who had an off year by his standards, still led the NBA with 12.4 rebounds per game while also averaging 17 points and 2.4 blocks on 57.8 percent shooting from the field, good for second in the NBA, and posting 48 double-doubles, also second in the NBA. Howard played in 76 games this season despite returning earlier than expected from offseason back surgery as well as suffering a torn labrum during the season.

Howard garnered 17 out of a possible 119 First Team votes and 203 total points. The San Antonio Spurs’ Tim Duncan was placed on the First Team, while Defensive Player of the Year Marc Gasol was named as the Second Team center.
Joining Howard on the Third Team were guards James Harden of the Houston Rockets and Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat, and forwards Paul George of the Indiana Pacers and David Lee of the Golden State Warriors.
Howard is free agent this offseason and is mulling over whether to return to the Lakers or go elsewhere, most notably he is believed to be considering the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks if he does not return to LA.
