As arguably the most indecisive big-name free agent in the history of the NBA, Dwight Howard made the process of agreeing to sign with the Houston Rockets drawn out and typical. Dwight has been infamously indecisive over the past few years while trying to please everyone and become the good guy that he’s always wanted to be known as.
Despite Dwight’s best efforts to make everyone love him, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year has done the complete opposite and has become arguably the most hated athlete in professional in the United States. An extreme statement to say the least, but true nonetheless after the Dwightmare that lasted much longer than it should have.
With Dwight now headed to Houston, the Los Angeles Lakers must start over once again with Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Steve Nash still hoping to make one last run at a championship before calling it career.
GM Mitch Kupchak and company will go back to the drawing board in order to devise a plan to keep this team in contention or at least afloat next season before heading into the talent-packed free agency period next summer.
