Metta World Peace Says Lakers, Rockets Will Be In 2014 Conference Finals

Metta World PeaceLeave it up to Metta World Peace to make bold statements. Just days after Dwight Howard decided to join the Houston Rockets, Metta World Peace predicted that the Western Conference will come down to two teams, the Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite not adding any new players thus far into free agency, the always entertaining World Peace told fans on Twitter that he sees Houston and Los Angeles in the Western Conference Finals.

Not many people expect the Lakers to contend next season as their roster isn’t really a championship one. Albeit the 2012-13 campaign was filled with injuries, it is hard seeing a nucleus of Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Steve Nash compete with some of the best teams in the NBA.

Nevertheless, World Peace does not lack any confidence, and he is fully prepared to take on the challenge once summer ends. World Peace’s future as a Laker will most likely be determined in a few days as the NBA’s amnesty period runs from July 10th through the 16th. It was recently reported that the Lakers are leaning toward keeping Metta for his final contract year.
