Lakers Rumors & News Recap: The Return of Jordan Farmar

FARMAR2After a taking his talents overseas, two-time NBA champion Jordan Farmer has decided to come back to the Los Angeles Lakers for a second tour. Farmar was receiving interest from teams in the NBA for a better salary than the Lakers were willing or could offer, but the UCLA alum chose to return for the veteran’s minimum.

Farmar is one of three players that have come to Los Angeles on a dime during this NBA offseason. Nick Young is the most notable with there being a market for his services, but like Farmar, Young chose to return to Los Angeles with a love of city and the team he’s always wanted to play for.

Wesley Johnson was also added to the team recently for the veteran’s minimum. Johnson is a young player that never got much recognition with the Minnesota Timberwolves or Phoenix Suns, but believes he can make a difference in Los Angeles.

With three young and hungry players in the fold in Los Angeles, the Lakers may continue to be a playoff contender moving forward. The addition of Farmar and Young were clear indications that this storied franchise can still bring players to Los Angeles with the love of the city and team being enough of a selling point.

Although the Lakers appear poised for a season of disappointment with the team picking up the pieces following the Dwightmare, there’s still hope for the future moving forward.
