Lakers News: Elias Harris Signs Two-Year Deal With The Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to terms with forward Elias Harris according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports via Twitter:

In five appearances on the Lakers’ summer league team, Harris shot 44.7 percent from the floor while averaging 10.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

The 24-year-old forward played all four years of his college career with Gonzaga before going undrafted. Harris averaged 13.8 points, 7.3 rebounds while shooting 51.7 percent from the floor.

Harris is also a member of the German national team in which he’s played on the same squad with fellow Laker Chris Kaman.

Over the past few weeks, the rumors circulating around the storied NBA franchise has been the team courting Lamar Odom to return. Odom hasn’t received much interest in free agency outside of the Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers, but now the Lakers will likely be crossed off the list of potential suitors for Odom with the team going younger with Harris.

With Harris signing with the team, the Lakers will only have one more guaranteed contract left to be signed. It remains uncertain what player the team will sign, but it’s possible it could be Chris Douglas-Roberts, Marcus Landry or another veteran free agent.
