With the Lakers not sold on what Lamar Odom can give them at this stage of his career, the Lakers have expressed interest in Anthony Tolliver. His agent, Larry Fox, tells FOX Sports Florida that talks are still preliminary but Tolliver has “definite” interest.
Tolliver thinks highly of the Lakers organization and would like the opportunity to play for the purple and gold:
“Obviously, to have a chance to play for a franchise like that, you’d have to think long and hard about that.”
While he waits to see if the Lakers are a serious option, Charlotte, Utah, and Chicago are all interested in his services. He has received a contract offer for the veteran’s minimum from Charlotte and hopes to make his decision before he goes on vacation.
This past season, Tolliver averaged 4.1 points for Atlanta and would like to play his natural position as a stretch-four. He had his best season in 2009-10 with the Golden State Warriors when he averaged 12.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and shot nearly 35 percent from three-point land.
