Kobe Bryant To Participate In Celebrity All-Star Game In Dubai

Coach-KobeWhile recovering from his ruptured Achilles, Kobe Bryant has still was able to make his annual overseas trip to Asia, making appearances in both China and the Philippines. According to reports, Bryant still isn’t done traveling this summer with a trip to Dubai in the works.

According to the Khaleej Times, a newspaper covering news in the  UAE, Bryant will be in Dubai on September 27 and 28 for what is being called the “Bryant Health & Fitness Weekend” to raise awareness for diabetes. The weekend is presented by Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) and will see Bryant show up and participate in various activities, including a celebrity all-star game.

During the course of the weekend, Bryant will make a number of appearances with the highlight being the highly anticipated celebrity basketball game on September 27 at the state-of-the-art Knights Arena at American University in Dubai. […]

Bryant will lead the warm-up and coach a team of celebrity players, fittingly called Team Black Mamba. Kobe’s team includes a number of high-profile, household names in the region.

The game will be played against Real Madrid, one of Europe’s best basketball teams. Bryant will wear a microphone during one half of the game so the crowd in attendance will be able to hear everything he’s saying and get a glimpse of what goes on in his mind during the course of a basketball game.

Soulja Boy will be among the celebrities participating in the game with two guest celebrities who will be announced on August 26 and September 2.

“The Kobe Bryant Health & Fitness Weekend presented by DMCC, will show our youth that fitness can be fun and interacting as one of the world’s greatest basketball legends will inspire them to aim high and stay healthy,” said Ahmed bin Sulayem, executive chairman of DMCC.

This will be Bryant’s first basketball appearance in the Middle East.
