The Los Angeles Lakers are about two months away from hitting the courts, and at this point it seems as though the roster is nearly finalized.
Over the off-season, there have been rumors that Lamar Odom could make a return to the team, but it now appears as though that is no longer a possibility.

After reports that Odom has been dealing with drug problems and the fact that his level of play has decreased in recent years, the Lakers’ interest in the forward diminished over the summer.
Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News writes that a source claims the Lakers no longer want to bring back Odom for a second stint with the team.
The Lakers had “some interest” in acquiring Odom and had talks with him in early July, but the team no longer has any interest in acquiring him, according to a league source familiar with the discussions.
Los Angeles could use a big man to play an important role in the second unit, and if Odom did not have as many off-court problems, then he would have been a good fit.
Nevertheless, the additions of Chris Kaman and Ryan Kelly should give the coaching some nice depth off the bench to the Lakers’ frontcourt.
