Lakers News: Xavier Henry Suffers Sprained Right Wrist

Xavier Henry was arguably the most impressive player in the Lakers’ victory over the Golden State Warriors last night as he put in 29 points and seven rebounds including an amazing buzzer beater to end the first half.

The Lakers second preseason game was not nearly as successful as the Lakers fell to the Denver Nuggets 97-88. In addition to Wesley Johnson suffering a foot injury, the impressive Henry also succumbed to the injury bug, as Lakers Nation Reporter Serena Winters announced:

Henry is in a battle with numerous players such as Shawne Williams, Marcus Landry, and Elias Harris to earn a roster spot, and his performance in the opening game impressed everyone watching. An injury is not something that Henry needs right now as the competition is fierce to make this team.

Apparently, this has been a nagging injury for Henry throughout the last few weeks:

Henry proved that he is someone to watch as the preseason moves forward. Hopefully this injury is not something that lingers throughout the season as we all know the Lakers were decimated by injuries all of last season. If he can come back quickly, the former lottery selection could be a valuable contributor.
