Lakers News: Steve Nash To Sit Out Second Half With Ankle Soreness

The Los Angeles Lakers will be without two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash for the second half against the division rival Sacramento Kings after the veteran point guard headed to the locker room to tend to soreness in his left ankle according to Mike Trudell of Lakers.com:

Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News later reported that Steve Nash had actually tweaked his ankle before the season, but said it wasn’t anything serious. Nash said he couldn’t remember how he tweaked it over the summer.

Last season was an absolute nightmare for Nash due to multiple injury problems throughout the year. Nash broke his leg in the second game of the season as the result of a collision with Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers.

After missing considerable time with the leg injury, Nash returned but struggled to stay healthy the rest of the way.

Heading into the 2013-14 NBA season, Nash was hoping to start the year with a clean slate, but injury problems may continue to bother the future Hall of Famer.

Along with Nash unable to return for the second half, Jordan Farmar (calf) and Wesley Johnson (foot) both missed this game against the Kings with injury problems of their own.
