Shootaround Report: Lakers Need To Play With Urgency Vs. Grizzlies

After a another tough loss on the road last night to the Atlanta Hawks, the Lakers have no time to dwell as they must turn right around to take on the always tough, physical Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night. As we have now passed the quarter point of the regular season, these tough losses need to start turning into wins if the Lakers plan on making a playoff push. Nick Young believes the team has to play like ‘there is no tomorrow’ to defeat the Grizzlies, and it’s hard to disagree with him.

If the Lakers are able to get the win, they will have to do so without a true point guard again. While Jordan Farmar is getting closer to returning, he isn’t quite ready yet and is not going to push it too much. When he comes back he has to be 100 percent. While Kobe Bryant has played admirably, his ankle has continued to bother him since his return. Farmar, or any point guard, returning would really serve to take some pressure off of Bryant.
