As if the injuries to Steve Blake, Steve Nash and Jordan Farmar weren’t bad enough for this team, Bryant going down for the next six weeks is potentially devastating for the Lakers.
Bryant suffered the knee injury in the win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday. Despite clearly being bothered by the injury initially, Bryant decided to stay in the game playing through the injury in the fourth quarter.
With Bryant now out for six weeks and Farmar still on the mend along with Nash and Blake, the Lakers’ front office will be officially in desperation mode. Now the team is forced to look for help via free agency with no healthy point guards on the roster or viable replacements outside Xavier Henry and Nick Young.
