The trade rumors involving Pau Gasol have kicked into high gear once again with the Phoenix Suns currently in discussions with the Los Angeles Lakers to acquire the veteran center. Although a deal may get done between these two division rivals before the NBA trade deadline on Feb. 20, the Lakers appear to want a little more in return from the Suns than what is being offered.
According to Mike Bresnahan of the L.A. Times, the Lakers want a better draft pick than No. 17:
Main reason Lakers + Suns haven't agreed on Gasol trade: Lakers want better draft pick than Suns' current position (17th overall).

With the trade deadline still a weeks away, the Suns and Lakers may continue to discuss a potential trade involving Gasol, but currently aren’t ready to pull the trigger.
Gasol will miss the upcoming three-game road trip for the Lakers with a groin injury, but has played at an All-Star level as of late averaging 20.8 points and 11.9 rebounds per game in the month of January.
It’ll be interesting to see how things process in the coming weeks. A third team getting involved in this potential blockbuster trade may not be out of the question.
