Lakers Injury News: Jordan Hill Out For Game With Cervical Strain

Hill celebrating

Just when things get better, they immediately get worse. Tonight the Lakers welcomed back Steve Nash and Steve Blake to the court as they both started against the Timberwolves. That was the only good news of the day.

Earlier today news broke that Pau Gasol will be out until the All-Star break. Then two minutes into the game, Jodie Meeks sprained his right ankle and was lost for the game. Now, as Bleacher Report’s Kevin Ding reports, the Lakers have lost Jordan Hill for the rest of the game due to a cervical strain:

While going up for a rebound, Hill was the recipient of a stiff Chris Kaman elbow right to the eye socket. He immediately asked out of the game and was clearly in a lot of pain.

With Gasol already out, Hill was expected to take on some of the load. This will now fall strictly on Chris Kaman and Robert Sacre. Hill and Meeks were the only two Lakers who haven’t missed a game for the Lakers this season so it’s only right that they go out right as the Lakers get some healthy bodies back.

At this time there is no word on whether Hill will play tomorrow night against the Cavaliers.
