After Lakers’ Latest Comeback, Kobe and Nash ‘Proud Of’ Dwight

The Lakers completed a furious rally on Wednesday night against the Hornets, as they erased a 25 point lead and held the Hornets to only nine fourth quarter points. Kobe Bryant led the way with 42 points and Dwight Howard dominated on the glass with 15 rebounds and on the defensive end with four blocked shots. After the game, Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register tweeted what Kobe and Steve Nash had to say about Dwight,

It is interesting to see Kobe give so much praise to Dwight, since Howard has been so nonchalant when talking about Kobe’s spectacular play. Whether it was slapping hands or their play on the court, tonight was a glimpse of what Lakers fans hope to be years of Kobe and Dwight co-existing. Mike D’Antoni went onto say the plays between Kobe and Howard, “was what everyone envisioned it would be.”

All the losing and uncertainty that surrounds Dwight Howard on a daily basis has clearly taken a toll for the Lakers, so hopefully they have turned a corner. If Howard continues to dominate on the defensive end and play great pick and roll with Nash and Bryant, they’ll have plenty more to be proud of Dwight come the end of the season.
