Andrew Bynum’s Ejection Irritated Coach Mike Brown

The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Houston Rockets last night despite holding a double-digit lead and they had to play the entire fourth quarter without Andrew Bynum. Bynum picked up his second technical foul in the third quarter and that left the Lakers’ front court in some serious trouble. Pau Gasol had to deal with the Rockets’ big men nearly by himself and he had no offensive help in the paint.

The Lakers ended up losing the game and coach Mike Brown was clearly unhappy that his star center was thrown out of the game, Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles writes.

“I was irritated,” was all Mike Brown said to reporters following the tough loss. Brown went on to talk about how valuable Bynum is to the Lakers’ success and he was clearly upset with his center.

Bynum had nothing to say about the incident and was in no mood to talk about the ejection. The Lakers could have easily won the game if Bynum had stayed and this event shows that Bynum still has a lot of maturing left to do. This has been a recurring issue for Bynum and something he needs to work on as soon as possible.
