Antawn Jamison Ready to Bring Home the Bling – Press Conference Highlights

Antawn Jamison was all excitement during his introduction and signing with the Lakers Wednesday afternoon. This will be the 36 year old’s 15th year in the league, and according to Jamison, he has never felt so excited for a season to get started.

Jamison wasn’t shy in talking to the press about his ultimate motivation: winning a championship. The newest Lakers addition sounded confident that this upcoming season will be more than just 82 games.

“The ultimate goal is to add another banner to the Staples Center…another trophy to this organization.”

On an individual basis, Jamison’s numbers on the court can vouch for themselves, but the forward is quick to admit that from a team standpoint, he is not satisfied.

“I never had a chance to be a part of a team to contend for a championship.”

As for playing under Mike Brown for a second time, Jamison knows what is expected of him. When asked about his time in Cleveland, the forward wasn’t afraid to point out his flaws, noting that being comfortable was something he always struggled with.

“In Cleveland…I came into a situation where I didn’t quite know my role, didn’t quite want to rock the boat.”

Well, Jamison seems to have his new role with the Lakers organization already figured out. And, as long as he brings back the bling, he can rock the yacht all the way home.

“The only thing left to do is win a championship.”
