I'm a SoCal native who has loved watching basketball and writing for as long as I can remember, so I'm finally incorporating both of my passions into one endeavor: sports blogging. I have a history degree from UC San Diego and have been writing for Lakers Nation since November 2010. I am easily one of the most obsessed, passionate, die-hard, informed, intelligent and emotional Los Angeles Lakers fangirls that you will ever meet! In addition to the Lakers I also love football, epic historical movies, reading, baking, chai lattes, and Bill Simmons. Check out my Lakers blog http://lakercountry.blogspot.com and follow me on Twitter @morganameridius.

After 19 seasons, Shaquille O’Neal announced his retirement via Twitter. The first thing that popped in my head when I saw everyone reacting to his statement on my news feed was “Wow…. I feel really old!” I lived in New Jersey…

Fancap: The End is Near

When the final buzzer sounded last night, I just sat on my couch quietly. I didn’t feel like crying. I wasn’t angry. I just felt….nothing. Numb, like I was an empty shell.  I never expected the Lakers to be in…

Fancap: Killer Bees, Swans, and Snakes… Oh My!

Last night's game in New Orleans was pretty spectacular and really entertaining to watch. The stars of the first half wouldn’t surprise anyone in Lakers Nation: Andrew Bynum continued his domination of everyone in the paint and the Black Mamba…

Fancap: Buzzkill at Staples Center

The only good thing I really have to say about Game 1 against the New Orleans Hornets today was the fact that I was at the game itself. Barring any season-ending losses, it is never as terrible when you’ve been…

Fancap: The Candyman Can (Beat the Spurs, That Is)

It was good to get a win last night after losing five in a row, but wow…. it was like pulling teeth. The Lakers continued their end of the season MO, sleepwalking through most of the game against the Spurs’…

Fancap: Thunderstruck

This past week or so has been more frustrating than I could have anticipated. Going from 17-1 and a chance to catch the #1 seed to losing five in a row for the first time since March 2007 and fighting…

Fancap: Utah gives L.A. an Unwelcome Surprise

Last night was a strange, ugly game.  Turnovers were abundant, there were very few second chance points and no one rebounded a whole lot except Andrew Bynum.  The Lakers seemed to come out with at least some energy, so I…

Fancap: The Danger of Killer Bees

Now that’s what I call a basketball game! Last night’s contest between the Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks had a lot riding on the outcome: both teams are neck-in-neck for the 2nd seed in the Western Conference, and with only…

Fancap: Portland Paralyzed By Lakers’ Late Snake Attack

With Andrew Bynum out for last night’s game as part of a two game suspension, it was apparent that other Lakers (especially Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom) would need to step up.  Luckily this is not an unknown occurrence due…
