Morgan Cohen

I'm a SoCal native who has loved watching basketball and writing for as long as I can remember, so I'm finally incorporating both of my passions into one endeavor: sports blogging. I have a history degree from UC San Diego and have been writing for Lakers Nation since November 2010. I am easily one of the most obsessed, passionate, die-hard, informed, intelligent and emotional Los Angeles Lakers fangirls that you will ever meet! In addition to the Lakers I also love football, epic historical movies, reading, baking, chai lattes, and Bill Simmons. Check out my Lakers blog http://lakercountry.blogspot.com and follow me on Twitter @morganameridius.

Fancap: Disneyland’s Revenge

While the Orlando Magic got the best of us the first time around this season, we had our revenge.  Last night really showed me what the Lakers are made of and what makes this team so special.  They used the…

Fancap: Nothing More than a Mild Burn

Dwayne Wade complains that the world is getting what it wants when the Heat lose. Kobe Bryant practices by himself an hour after an excruciating loss. Chris Bosh sniffles at the podium and bemoans his lack of touches. Kobe Bryant…

Fancap: NBA-leading Spurs Trampled by LA

This is the time of year where I feel true colors begin to get exposed.  Some teams melt down, and some teams rise up like the Lakers have been doing since the All-Star Break.  They have now won seven in…

Fancap: The Battle of the Magic Kingdoms

While I would have liked to see more energy from the Lakers in their match up against the Orlando Magic, I feel like I can’t fault them too much considering it was their 5th road game in a week and…

Fancap: Revenge is a Dish Best Served Purple and Gold

It’s amazing how much a Laker game can alter my mood. A bad loss can drag me down if I let it, and a good win will keep me grinning like an idiot for at least a day or two.…

Fancap: One Unlucky Bounce Does Not Equal a Catastrophe

I will say this for last night’s game: even though it was still a loss, it was better than Sunday. Neither team shot well, but both played good defense. It was an even matchup that unfortunately did not bounce the…

Fancap: Two Words For Any Celtics Fan: Game Seven

I have never been so glad that my recaps for Lakers Nation are from the perspective of a fan… I do not have to be impartial, and I do not have to rehash every part of the game. This is…

Fancap: L.A. Sizzles as Utah Melts

Last night’s game against the Utah Jazz was one of the most excellent and complete games I’ve seen the Lakers play all season. Yes the Jazz have now lost 16 straight at Staples Center, and yes they are in the…

Lakers Nation Fancap: Mavs’ Hot Hand Burns Lakers

The Dallas Mavericks are somewhat of an anomaly for me personally in the Western Conference.  They’re a solid team that annually makes the playoffs, even making it to the NBA Finals against Dwayne Wade’s Miami Heat in 2006, yet I…
