Board of Governors and Players Approve CBA; Lockout Officially Over

The NBA lockout, which kept players and owners separated for 149 days, is finally over. The lockout began on July 1, 2011 and spanned all the way into November. The parties reached a tentative agreement last month, but at that point the lockout was not yet officially lifted.

However, after a series of approvals and votes, the NBA can now get back to work. The players were missing out on playing their favorite sport and the owners were losing millions of dollars, but that is now in the past. The work-stoppage is over and fans can get to see the world’s best athletes again.
