BREAKING NEWS: Anthony Finally Traded to Knicks

According to a report by ESPN’s Chris Broussard, Carmelo Anthony has been traded to the New York Knicks for Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, Raymond Felton, 2014 first-round draft pick, Golden State’s second-round draft picks in 2012 and 2013 and $3 million in cash.

The Knicks will also receive Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Renaldo Balkman and Anthony Carter.

The trade ends a running drama that has surrounded Anthony and the Nuggets since before the 2010-11 season began.

The New Jersey Nets and Dallas Mavericks were also rumored as possible destinations for Anthony.

Although the deal leaves the Knicks with a roster lacking any considerable depth, it sets up the possibility for all-star point guards Deron Williams and Chris Paul as possible acquisitions when they become free agents in the summer of 2012.
