Lakers Draft Workout: Buddy Hield

The Los Angeles Lakers worked out shooting guard Buddy Hield out of Oklahoma University on Saturday, in preparation for the 2016 NBA draft. Hield had an impressive senior season at OU, starting all 37 games, averaging 25 points per game on 55.2% shooting. His three-point shooting improved tremendously in his senior year, knocking down 147 three-pointers (on 45.7% shooting) in his 37 games, by far the most of any college player this past season.

Born in Freeport, Bahamas, Hield moved to the United States in 2010, and attended Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas. Six years later, Hield concluded his collegiate career as the winner of the 2016 Wooden Award, Naismith Trophy, and Oscar Robinson Trophy as the national player of the year.

The Lakers have the No. 2 pick in the upcoming draft and recent mock drafts have Hield projected to go as high as No. 3. Check out his interview with the media after his workout above.
