Buddy Hield Working Out With Lakers Legend Kobe Bryant Ahead Of Nba Draft

With the 2016 NBA Draft right around the corner, the next wave of draftees are busy working on their game as they await to join their perspective teams.

One of those prospects is Oklahoma guard and National College Player of the Year, Buddy Hield. The Sooners product recently sat down for an interview with former Lakers forward Rick Fox on NBA.com, where he discussed some of the things he’s doing to perfect his game.

One of those is working out the Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant. Hield talked about some of the things that he’s learned so far from the five-time NBA champion as he prepares for the NBA Draft:

“Being mentally focused, locking in and doing the little things, you know. Setting your man up, jabbing, creating space. How to use the fadeaway jumpshot, he’s teaching me how he squares his body when he uses it. It’s the little things that are going to help me improve.”

Hield caught Bryant’s eye earlier this year after a spectacular 37-point performance against Oregon in the Elite Eight at the Honda Center in Anaheim, with Kobe even saying he was ‘blown away’ by the performance.

As a kid growing up in the Bahamas, Hield idolized Kobe growing up even referring to himself as a “Kobe freak.”

As a dynamic sharpshooter, Hield is certainly taking the right steps in building his offensive repertoire by putting in work the NBA’s third all-time leading scorer in history. Hield is set to work out for the Lakers next week.
