Byron Scott: ‘It’s A Process Of Trying To Get Better Each Game’

After five tough losses to the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers got back to their winning ways on Sunday night. The Lakers enjoyed four days of rest before the match against the Charlotte Hornets, and the extra time away from the court resulted in a 107-92 victory.

Entering the night, the Lakers allowed 116 points per game and it was obvious that the team was struggling mightily on the defensive end. Coach Byron Scott preached effort and energy on that side of the court, but the players were unable to have success against their opponents.

However, behind 21 points a piece from Kobe Bryant and Jeremy Lin, plus another 16 from Carlos Boozer, the Lakers got into the win column. After the game, Scott spoke about how there was not much of a celebration and it is a process of getting better via Los Angeles Daily News’ Mark Medina:

The Lakers next match will come Tuesday night in Memphis when the team plays a defensive juggernaut in the Grizzlies, who currently stand at 6-1.  The players and fans should celebrate this victory, but the coaching staff must get back to the drawing board and focus its attention on Memphis.
