The Los Angeles Lakers have suffered their 50th loss of the season and fans are just hoping this 2014-15 NBA season comes to an end quickly. With 15 games left to play, the only thing the Lakers are truly playing for is position in the NBA draft lottery.

The Lakers once again showed their inexperience Thursday night when they could not make timely plays late in the game. Los Angeles was not able to execute down the stretch and they could not steal the win from the Utah Jazz, eventually losing 80-73. After the game, coach Scott spoke to the media and said the inability to make plays in crunch time was nothing new, via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:
Byron Scott: “We just didn’t make plays down the stretch the last 2:45…It’s the same story.”

The 73-point performance was a season low for the Lakers and it was not an entertaining game whatsoever. The team finished the game with a pathetic 8-17 shooting from the free-throw line and scored just 18 points in the fourth quarter.
As of the “tank watch,” the Lakers have a very important game coming up Sunday against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers stand one spot above the Lakers in the “tank standings,” so this match will certainly impact the upcoming draft lottery.
