Byron Scott On Kevin Durant: ‘I Would Love For Him To Play With Kobe Too’

The future is uncertain to say the least for the Los Angeles Lakers with no telling what will happen with the roster once or if Kobe Bryant retires after next season. Although no one knows what the future holds, Kevin Durant could become an option for the team in free agency in 2016, possibly being the player Kobe can pass the torch to in Los Angeles.

Recently, Durant made some interesting comments about potentially playing with Kobe and how he’d love the experience due to his drive to win. Anything can happen over the course of this season and the next, but Durant talking about Kobe got a lot of people buzzing about the possibilities.

On Friday, before the Lakers faced the Oklahoma City Thunder, head coach Byron Scott addressed the idea of Bryant and Durant teaming up in Los Angeles, via Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News:

As of right now, there’s no telling who’ll be the future face of the storied Lakers franchise. Plenty of big-name players have been talked about as potential fits in Los Angeles. Rajon Rondo, Marc Gasol, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love, LaMarcus Aldridge and Durant have been mentioned, but it remains unclear how realistic it is to consider any of these players changing teams.

Obviously, Scott would be thrilled at the prospect of a Bryant-Durant combo in Los Angeles, but it is much too early to speculate whether it is truly a possibility.
