Byron Scott Refers To Lakers As ‘Soft’ Once Again After Loss To Cavs

The rough season continues for the Los Angeles Lakers with Byron Scott’s squad falling to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday in convincing fashion.

Following the loss to his former team, Coach Scott said the following about the Lakers effort in Cleveland, via Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times:

As a result of the loss, the Lakers fall to 13-38 on the season with little hope of the team even reaching 20 wins at this point. Los Angeles continues to struggle on both ends of the floor and can’t seem to get anything going no matter who is the floor for Coach Scott.

With Kobe Bryant on the shelf for the rest of the season and Jordan Hill currently dealing with a hip injury, the team simply couldn’t compete with LeBron James’ Cavs. Cleveland took control of this game in the second quarter and never looked back with LeBron coming two assists shy of a triple-double and Kevin Love scoring a season-high 32 points leading to a 15-point blowout.

Clearly, Scott is becoming increasingly frustrated with his team’s effort with the Lakers currently sitting near the bottom of the Western Conference standings. There’s seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel, but the team is heading toward some much needed time off with the All-Star break approaching.
