In the first two games of the season for the Los Angeles D-Fenders, Thomas has been a man on a mission. He has averaged 33.5 points, 15.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks and one NBA team has already taken notice. According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the number one prospect will be joining the San Antonio Spurs soon:
Hearing: Malcolm Thomas will soon be on his way to San Antonio as a D-League callup from the LA D-Fenders

During the off-season, Thomas worked extremely hard to improve his shooting and conditioning. While his focus will always be on the defensive end, Thomas showed confidence in his jump shot as he shot nearly 62 percent from beyond the arc.
With the way Thomas was playing through training camp and the first two games, head coach Bob MacKinnon knew it wouldn’t be too long before Thomas got his chance. Since Boris Diaw is dealing with injuries, Thomas will have a true opportunity to show what he can do in the NBA.
