Dwight Howard “Betting 30 Million” On Rockets’ Title Chances

The “Dwightmare” is finally over, and the All-Star center has decided to join the Houston Rockets.

After two seasons of indecision, Howard has chosen a home for the foreseeable future and the Rockets have become a Western Conference contender with him on the roster. Even though the Lakers have lost their starting center, the team and its players have moved on.

The Lakers were hoping to make Howard the face of their franchise once Kobe Bryant retired, but they will have to look elsewhere now that the decision has been made. Howard said that he believes the Rockets will give him the best chance to win championship and Dave McMenamin tweets that the center told him that he will bet $30 million that his decision to pass on the Lakers was the right one.

The Lakers are putting a lot of stock in the summer of 2014 when they hope to sign some coveted free agents. Although Howard did not re-sign with the Lakers and became the first superstar to willingly leave Los Angeles, there is a good chance he will be the only one to do so.

Howard also mentioned that Kobe’s pitch didn’t impact his decision at all.

Whether or not you want to believe Dwight is up to you, but this is what he’s attempting to sell.
