No one on the Lakers had a game worth applauding as Kobe Bryant shot 10-23 from the field and center Dwight Howard got ejected from the game in the second quarter. Howard picked up two technical fouls in the first half and he was sent off with 1:18 left in the second period.
After the game, Howard spoke to the Daily News, and the ejection left him without words. Howard refused to discuss the incident and he was clearly frustrated with what had happened.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” Howard said after posting five points on 1-of-3 shooting and two rebounds in only 17 minutes. “Not tonight.”
“Nothing they can do now,” Howard said. “We lost the game.”
The Lakers are now five games under .500 and nothing is going right for the team that was supposed to set league records. It’s astonishing to see a roster full of future Hall-of-Fame players perform so poorly.
Los Angeles is running out of time and it has to figure it out or else the season will be over well before April.
