For as much of a stir Lonzo Ball made on the court, the Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard ruffled feathers with his ranking of the top five rappers. To his credit, Ball didn’t back off his list despite the innocent controversy it caused.

Kyle Kuzma recently prodded Ball and called for him to release a CD on the same day as Nas. Ball and the famed rapper took rather lighthearted jabs at one another over perceived slights.

One artist who does appear to be in Ball’s corner is Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty. During a recent show he threw his shirt in the crowd, to which a fan responded by tossing Ball’s Lakers jersey back at him.

Without missing a beat, Lil Yachty put the jersey on and continued performing, via Bleacher Report:

The hip-hop world is no stranger to the Lakers organization. Yachty joins big names such as Snoop Dogg, Jay Z and even Tupac as artists who famously wore Lakers jerseys on stage.

While Lil Yachty is performing to promote the upcoming release of his new single, it appears he’s also becoming a Ball fan. The new single, which allegedly takes fire at all of his haters, was recently teased on Instagram.

Ball of course is no stranger to criticism himself. He averaged a respectable 10.2, 7.2 assists and 6.9 rebounds per game for the Lakers this season.

It ended almost one month ago and fans are already excitedly anticipating the possibility of signing a star free agent this summer.
