After a valiant attempt to return from a knee fracture, superstar Kobe Bryant will miss the rest of the season.
Following the announcement of Kobe set to sit out the rest of the way, Lakers trainer Gary Vitti said the following according to Mike Trudell of Lakers.com:
Gary Vitti: "Kobe will have the entire offseason to heal, rehab & prepare; we look forward to him being 100% for the start of next season.”

The five-time NBA champion missing the rest of the season was a foregone conclusion. Kobe returning to the floor this season with less than 20 games remaining and no shot at a playoff spot in the Western Conference really didn’t make much sense.

Risking further injury and jeopardizing the rest of his career for only a handful of games in a lost season would’ve been unwise to say the least.
As Vitti stated, Kobe will have the entire off-season to get his body right for next season. Although Kobe has been reluctant to shut it down, this was a wise decision made by the superstar guard.
