Gasol Hopes Summer Play Will Help Him Next Season

Los Angeles Lakers’ Pau Gasol is currently playing in the European Championship for the Spanish National Basketball team. Gasol and his brother Marc are dominating the tournament and Spain has advanced into the Quarter-finals for yet another year. Gasol talked with the Los Angeles Times about how the games are going and how it will affect his NBA play.

“When you keep in shape, it’s always good. I have played with my national team eight out of my 10 NBA seasons and from a conditioning point of view I am very used to it, it’s nothing new.” Gasol said. “The unique thing about this season is that I don’t really know when it’s going to start.”

Gasol and Spain are hoping to repeat as European Champions and get a ticket to the 2012 Summer Olympics.
