GM Survey: Kobe Bryant Best Shooting Guard in League

Even at the age of 34, Kobe Bryant is considered the best at his position from those in the front office.

The Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard will go down as one of the greatest players of all time, but that doesn’t mean he is slumping now. Bryant may not be as explosive of a player as he was before, but he can still score in bunches. Whenever the Lakers need a bucket, Bryant usually delivers and he is arguably the most clutch player in the league right now.

In a recent poll of NBA General Managers, 66.7 percent of those polled said Kobe Bryant was the best shooting guard in the NBA while Dwyane Wade came in second place with 23.3 percent of the votes.

1. Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers — 66.7%
2. Dwyane Wade, Miami — 23.3%

Also receiving votes: Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City; Manu Ginobili, San Antonio; James Harden, Oklahoma City

Surprisingly, Kobe Bryant received a lower percentage of the votes last season as the best in the position. Prior to the 2010-11 season, only 55.6 percent of the general managers believed Kobe was the best shooting guard in the league.

This season, the Lakers will have a very formidable team and there is no question he will find life easier with Dwight Howard and Steve Nash around him. Bryant has five championship rings to his name already, and a sixth will make his case as the greatest shooting guard of all-time ever stronger.
